The coin depicts the god Jupiter in a prancing quadriga (chariot) runninng to the right. Jupiter is hurling a thunderbolt and holding a scepter. “ROMA” in box in exergue. Jupiter was the Roman god of the sky, thunder and storms. Rome held him as the highest ranking god. He is especailly concerned with oaths, treaties and leagues.
